The Montessori method

We are committed to providing exceptional care, support and education to all our children. The Montessori method — developed by Italian physician Maria Montessori and loved worldwide for over 100 years — focuses on independence, hands-on learning and a thoughtfully prepared environment that lets each child grow across all the main developmental areas.

Our three groups

Toddlers under 2

A warm, nurturing and homely environment where little ones feel safe, happy and secure. Our experienced staff follow each child’s individual routine, balancing cosy rest areas with stimulating play. Through sensory play, music, movement and interaction we support early development — always with plenty of care, reassurance and cuddles along the way.

Pre-Montessori 2–3 years

The day begins with a special circle time and a story, before the children split into mini-groups for painting, music and dance, jigsaws, numbers, colours and free-play, to name just a few.

Montessori 3+, school-ready

Our older children work with Montessori materials and planned project work — arts and crafts, worksheets and workbooks. We support each child with numeracy and literacy through their own individual workbooks. Outdoor play is a very active part of the day: muddy puddles, collecting leaves and visiting our “play house” are always exciting.

Our activities

We offer a full range of Montessori activities, starting with circle time to discuss the day’s theme.

SpanishMovement & DanceSportsYogaPhonics

Spanish is taught by qualified teachers and Movement & Dance by our music teacher. Sports lessons are a major hit with all the children, and yoga is enjoyed by everyone. Phonics — through fun songs, games and activities — builds strong foundations for early reading, writing and communication.

Free-flow & quiet time

Free-flow, child-led. Within the Montessori classroom we encourage each child to develop as an individual, learning from the activities that interest them most. It is with this in mind that we plan their next steps and challenge their development.

Quiet time. For any child who wishes to rest, we provide a calm, relaxing space away from the rest of the group — to simply rest, read a book, or sleep. This is always discussed with you to ensure continuity of care.
